We conduct research to improve the evidence base of the field and inform our practice. Design research, simply put, is concerned with developing knowledge to help improve quality of life and quality of environment through different courses of informed action, including planning and design, to change existing environments into preferred ones.

  Review of planning and design of capital cities across the world; research and development of a sustainable urban design code for city development; research and development of a regulating code for the central business district; integrating all research outcomes and design proposals and authoring a 5 volume Urban Design and Landscape Vision Document for Naya Raipur, new capital city of Chhattisgarh; authoring supplementary Urban Design Guidelines for Naya Raipur.

img3 Upgradation and Beautification of Urban Road Network and Cityscape for Bathinda and Ludhiana
  Research on the many components of the public realm that comprise a cityscape and the quality considerations of successful streetscapes; analyzing successful streetscaping projects; evaluating existing conditions of streets and public realm in Bathinda and Ludhiana, analyzing their relationship to landuse and density; analyzing the potentials of Bathinda and Ludhiana to create a new special identity that may be promoted through planning and design of the public realm; creating a flexible design tool to adequately respond to different edge, district and transect conditions.
